Practical Training 2Laajuus (10 cr)

Objectives

The aim of this developmental work placement is for students to develop their practical skills in their field.

On completion of this placement, the student will
• be able to apply for a placement which develops his/her professional skills
• be able to assess his/her professional skills
• be able to set personal learning objectives for the placement
• be able to apply what he/she has learned in theory - know the main practical tasks of his/her profession
• be able to combine theory and practice - have a realistic understanding of the requirements and practices of the sector.

Content

The student attends the internship supervision sessions.
• The student attends the internship seminar in the field of competence.
• The student obtains an internship placement.
• The student prepares learning objectives for the internship period, which are agreed with the workplace internship supervisor.
• The student keeps a work diary during the internship period.
• The student prepares an internship report according to the given instructions and returns the report by the end of September.

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

The traineeship will be rejected if the student has not completed a work diary or has not returned the traineeship report within six months of the end of the traineeship. The length of the traineeship is not completed as agreed.
