Objectives
Students:
- know the design criteria of vehicle body structure and chassis design
- know the most important national and international vehicle regulations
- know the passenger and industrial vehicle manufacturing technologies
- know the body glue, welding, riveting, soldering, repair, straightening methods
- use vehicle industry software for vehicle repair cost estimation
- use vehicle industry software for industrial vehicle engineering.
Content
The course includes provisions relating to the vehicle structure, bodywork and chassis, materials, manufacturing and repair methods. The course includes safety regulations, safety equipment and safety testing, and collision repairs.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
Can recognise different kind of car body structures. Is aware of repairing methods but can not explain them. Works in a group. Recognizes own co-operation skills. Recognizes automotive engineering working methods.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
Can realize why different kind of car body structures are used. Is able to choose from repairing methods best for the case. Can work responsible in group and is ready to improve co-operational skills.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
Understands widely car body structures. Is able to choose right working methods for repairs and can create new methods. Can co-operate responsible, flexible and constructively. Develop both own and group co-operation.
Assessment criteria, pass/fail
Student has not got minimum credit from practical works or examinations.
