Exam schedules
ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY exam:
Exam open in Moodle/Exam week x (will be announced later)
1.retake:
2.retake: if needed
The student has two possibilities to retake the exam.
The student has a right to raise the grade one time at retake.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment of anatomy and physiology is based on a written examination. Rating 0-5. Grade 1 requires 60% of the maximum points.
Objectives:
- The student knows the structure and function of human body organ systems and is able to form an understanding of a human body as a physical functional entity.
- The student knows the most important terms of anatomy and physiology.
- The student knows how to apply the aforementioned knowledge both when studying and when carrying out nursing work.
- The student learns to use different sources to gain information both independently and together with fellow students.
- The student learns to effectively use the time intended for independent study.
Assessment scale
0-5

Further information
During the first class, orientation matters are reviewed, so attendance at the orientation is highly recommended. If you can't attend the orientation, find out about the course yourself from a fellow course member.
Anatomy and Physiology includes contact learning, e-learning and self-learning. During contact learning the focus is on more complicated tasks, student are expected to actively take part in discussion.
Contents and learning goals:
- the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system. The student recognizes largest bones and related structures and understands the formation and structures of joints/articulations. The student understands muscle activation and contraction mechanisms and recognizes most important muscle structures and understand their functions on mobilizing the body.
- the structure and regulation of the metabolic system. The student recognizes the most important endocrine system related organs and structures and understands their functions, role in homeostasis and the importance and mechanism of biological feedback systems.
- the reproductive system. The student recognizes male/female reproductive systems and related structures and understands its main functions. The student is able to explain menstrual cycle, fertilisation and gastrulation, structure and function of placenta.
