Objectives (course unit)

European competence level A1

Target group: beginners or those with comprehensive school studies in the languageIn the second foreign language course, the student learns the language used in the most common service situations, basic structures of the language and etiquette of the German-speaking cultural area.

The student
- will be able to understand and speak the language in the most common service situations
- will be able to use the basic structures of the language and pronounce German
- will know cultural differences and ways of interaction in the language area, and will be able to take them into consideration in his/her work.

Content (course unit)

The most common service situations such as in cafés, restaurants, and during travel.
Talking about oneself and one's family.
Knowledge of etiquette and geography when interacting with speakers of the target language.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

Grade 1
The student
- manages the simple language use situations covered in the course at a basic level and is able to produce short sentences
- will be able to use the key structures and vocabulary of the course at a basic level
- has a basic command of German pronunciation
- is familiar with the etiquette of the German-speaking area

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

Grade 3
The student
- will be able to apply what they have learned to new language use situations
- has a fairly good command of the key vocabulary and structures of the course
- has a fairly good command of German pronunciation
-will be able to take into account the etiquette of the language area in their own behavior in basic language situations

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

Grade 5
The student
- manages basic language use situations well
- has a good command of the key vocabulary and structures of the course
- has a good command of German pronunciation
- makes use of their knowledge of etiquette in their own behavior
- completes the given tasks well and has a positive attitude towards studying
