Objectives (course unit)

Students
-know the most common internal diseases and are aware of their prevention and treatment
-know the most common causes of acute stomach pain and are aware of their examination
-know the most common skeletal traumas and skeletal surgical diseases and are aware of their examination and treatment
-know the the most central matters in the observation of the patient's state and can react to them
-know the reproduction and behaviour of microbes, the most common microbes causing diseases
and infectious diseases as well as the operation of the human immune system
-know the essential laboratory examinations in radiography and radiotherapy and are aware of how to process the samples related to their work
-know the principles of ECG

Content (course unit)

-the most common internal diseases; the most common cardiovascular diseases, the most common pulmonary diseases, diabetes, rheumatism
-causes of acute stomach pain; cholelithiasis, appendicitis, diverticulitis
-traumatology; hip, ankle and upper limb fractures
-orthopaedics; arthrosis and prosthesis surgery
-the most common microbes and infectious diseases as well as the operation of the human immune system
-essential laboratory examinations
-ECG registration

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

Internal diseases:
-can describe the cause, occurrence and symptoms as well as the examinations and their findings of a disease
-can describe the methods of treatment of the most central internal diseases and the observation of the disease
Surgery:
-can name the most central surgical diseases and injuries
-can describe the principles of the examination and care of the most central surgical diseases and injuries
Microbiology:
-is able to recognize central laboratory examinations and ways of processing samples
Laboratory examinations and ECG (rest):
-can name central laboratory examinations and ways of processing samples
-knows the basics for ECG registration
-participates actively in the ECG practice

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

Internal diseases:
-can explain the connection between the cause, symptoms, examinations and their findings as well as the methods of treatment and observation of the most central internal diseases
Surgery:
-can explain the principles of the examination and care of the most central surgical diseases and injuries
-can explain the principles of care in emergency situations
Microbiology:
-can implement his/her knowledge of central laboratory examinations ways of processing samples
Laboratory examinations and ECG (rest):
-can describe central laboratory examinations and ways of processing samples
-knows the basics for ECG registration
-participates actively in the ECG practice

Internal diseases:
-can widely explain the connection between the cause, symptoms, examinations and their findings as well as the methods of treatment and observation of the most central internal diseases
Surgery:
-can widely explain the connection between the examination and care of the most central surgical diseases and injuries
-can widely explain the principles of care in emergency situations
Microbiology:
-can explain the basics of microbiology and the operation of the human immune system
-can combine his/her know-how with vocational know-how
Laboratory examinations and ECG (rest):
-can evaluate the indications of the most central laboratory examinations and the effect of processing the samples as well as search for more information to support his/her decisions
-can apply the results of the most central laboratory examinations in radiography and radiotherapy
-is aware of how to process samples related to the radiographer's work
-knows the basics for ECG registration
-participates actively in the ECG practice

Assessment criteria, pass/fail (course unit)

Fail:
Internal diseases and surgery: The student shows ignorance by not answering even one question or could cause danger, damage or perishing of the patient by acting accordingly to the answers
