Objectives (course unit)

Student
-knows the research process and understands the significance of research for the development of working practices
-can plan an experimental research study
-knows the procedure of the thesis process at TAMK and requirements of a thesis
-knows the processes of searching information and is able to evaluate information critically.
-understands the importance of productization and commercialization in development of products and services
-knows the basic principles of innovation, and tools and methods of innovating products and services

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student knows the research process with its stages and is able to analyse the quality and reliability of research. The student's written output corresponds to the TAMK's reporting guidelines and the satisfactory level of the thesis. The student is partly familiar with the tools and basic principles of innovation. The student is able to recognise and develop product and service concepts. The student makes, reports, and submits tasks according to the instructions. The participation in group work is relatively poor. The student's own contribution to the group's activities is small. The use of references contains shortages.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student is able to master the research process with its stages and is able to analyse the themes of research in versatile ways. The student's written output corresponds to the TAMK's reporting guidelines and the good level of the thesis. The student is familiar with the tools and basic principles of innovation. The student is able to analyse and develop realistic product and service concepts. The student makes, reports, and submits tasks clearly and in versatile way. The student is able to use his own experience as well as literature as a source. The student participates actively in work. The student's own contribution to the group's activities is moderate. The student uses references appropriately.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student is able to master the research process with its stages and is able to independently analyse the themes of research in versatile ways. The student's written output corresponds to the TAMK's reporting guidelines and the commendable level of the thesis. The student is excellently familiar with the tools and basic principles of innovation. The student is able to analyse, develop and evaluate critically realistic product and service concepts. The student makes, reports, and submits tasks excellently. The student is able to use his own experience as well as literature as a source. The student demonstrate understanding of the subject. The student participates very actively in work. The student's own contribution to the group's activities is significant. The use of references is versatile and of high quality.
