Objectives

The Master’s thesis is an independent work that demonstrates the student’s capabilities in the required EQF 7 level. These capabilities are:
-- Knowledge: 1) highly specialized knowledge, some of which is at the forefront of knowledge in a specific field of work or study, as the basis for original thinking and/or research, 2) critical awareness of knowledge gaps in a field and at the interface between different fields.
- Skills: specialized problem-solving skills required in research and/or innovation to develop new knowledge and procedures and to integrate knowledge from different fields.
- Responsibility and autonomy: 1) manage and transform work or study contexts that are complex, unpredictable and require new strategic approaches, 2) take responsibility for contributing to professional knowledge and practice and/or for reviewing the strategic performance of teams.

Content

The Master’s thesis executes and reports an innovative/artistic emerging media project. During the thesis process, the student deepens her/his knowledge and skills of the selected focus area within emerging media. Students are required to acquire a commissioner or a cooperation partner for their thesis. Sustainability shall be addressed in the thesis, as well. The report is an academic study related to the practical emerging media project. The module includes a module of research methods and academic writing (5 cr).
