Objectives

The aim of the course is to enable students to work in a multidisciplinary project work environment and projects in various design, measurement and development tasks.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to
• report on the progress of a project at different stages.
• be able to prepare a project report
• receive and give development suggestions and feedback in project management tasks.
• be able to evaluate the success of a project

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The team does not have clear rules for its activities, the project is to some extent supervisor- or client-driven. The project manager works on a case-by-case basis, there is a lack of planning and monitoring of time use and division of labour.
Project team members focus on their own sub-sets, there is a lack of cooperation between members and with the client, and there is a lack of utilisation of team members' strengths. The workload is unevenly distributed between project team members.
The output is incomplete or the team's perception of the quality of its work does not match the client's.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The group agrees on the rules of the group and, as a rule, follows them in its activities. The project manager drives the project forward and ensures that everyone can participate in the project.
The team members work according to the agreed rules and the project manager's instructions, listening to each other's views and cooperating with the client. However, ownership of the project varies at different stages.
The output of the project is generally in line with the terms of reference. The team and the client have relatively similar views on the quality of the work.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The group agrees on its own initiative and collectively on the rules to be followed within the group and ensures that they are respected in its activities.
The project manager takes responsibility for his or her role and drives the project forward in a natural way, taking into account the group's activities and the strengths of the group members. Ensures that each member of the group participates in the project work. Allocates the time available in a planned way. Finds creative solutions to contribute to the group's activities.
Each team member contributes to the achievement of the project objectives through his/her own activities in cooperation with the other team members and takes responsibility for the progress of the project throughout its duration. Team members work on the project by listening to others and taking into account all team members, their views and their skills. Team members work naturally with the client and adapt plans according to feedback received.
The project progresses on schedule or changes are agreed with the client. The project team can realistically assess the quality of the output against the project objectives and reflect on the progress of the project.
