Objectives (course unit)
The student is able to examine, observe and interpret their living environment and visual image culture critically. The student is able to convey observations and interpretations through photographing. Student is able to collaborate in an international student team.
Content (course unit)
The student learns the basic digital technology of photography and creates a photographic work of art. Sustainable development.
Location and time
Start of the course on Monday 25.5.2020 at 10 in Tabula. Week before importat to visit on tabula implementation and check notes on the course.

Lectures, excercises, tutor meeting (= individual feedback) - because the corona, now all as a telework.
Learning materials
Lectures as pdf-files.
Student workload
Six to seven telemeetings and same amount of self-contained working.

TIMETABLE AND CONTENT (v18.5.2020)
WEEK 21 (this week so before the course starts)
• Visit in Moodle, check notes and present yourself
• Watch videos and tutorials (all are not yet in Moodle)
• Be sure that you have Zoom application
• Download Adobe Photoshop and Bridge applications (check the note)
• Borrow DSLR camera from AV-storage (or somewhere else) if possible and if needed
WEEK 22
MON 25.5. 10 - 14
• Start of the course in Zoom: aim, content, timetable, evaluation criteria
• Checking what kind of camera in use each students have
• Very basics about a control of the DSLR-camera, watch videos first and ask questions
• A basic photo technique lecture (teacher pick up few points)
• About photo expression and contemporary art photography (teacher pick up few points)
• Brief for an assignment 1: Self-portrait; concentrate to an ambient light and a depth of field
• Brief for the main assignment: Diptych OR Triptych OR Sketch for Art Work. In diptych take two OR in triptych take three images as completeness and give a title to it. Alternatively you could do a sketch for photo art work and give a title to it
TUE 26.5. 15 – 17
• Possibility for short individual tutoring about how to use your camera, book you time on Monday or at email
WED 27.5. 10 - 14
• Photoshop, part 1 (and Bridge shortly), watch tutorials first and ask questions
• Uploading assignment 1 as a small jpeg file into Moodle implementation
• Quickly checking / some comments for portraits (= assignment 1) – Opponent method
• Brief for an assignment 2: Milieu portrait of a friend, concentrate to a person (remember a safe distance)

• Basics on a color management, check a PDF-file first and ask questions
