The student
- knows the basic ethical values in social and health care;
- knows the professional ethical guidelines and principles of the nursing profession;
- is aware of his/her own values and is able to describe them regarding the values and ethical principles in health care;
- knows the principles of sustainable development globally;
- knows the meaning of ethics when related to media

The student recognises the ethical guidelines of nursing in nurses’ work, can define concept of human person in nursing, and is aware of nursing values and nurses’ ethical values. The student knows the process of ethical decision making in nursing and recognises professional’s responsibility as a part of belonging to the nursing community. The student has participated in the course according to the criteria.

Arviointikriteerit - hyvä (3-4) (Ei käytössä, kts Opintojakson Arviointikriteerit ylempänä)

The student can describe with rationales ethical thinking and meaning of the concept of human person in nursing practice. The student can act according to values of nursing, ethical principles and guidelines of nursing The student understands the process of ethical decision making in nursing. The student can with rationales, define the decisions made according to the ethical decision making process while presenting professional responsibility in actions. The student has participated in the course according to the criteria.

The student can critically analyse ethical thinking and meaning of the concept of human person in nursing practice. The student can apply nursing values, principles, and codes of ethics in several contexts. The student understands the process of ethical decision making in nursing. The student can analyse critically, and with rationales, define the decisions made according to the ethical decision making process while presenting professional responsibility in thinking. The student has participated in the course according to the criteria.
