Competences developed
The Degree Programme in Media aims at providing the students with the ability to work as experts of their own field in working life and creating the preconditions for commercial utilisation of their own expertise for example through independent entrepreneurship.

Core fields of know-how include for example know-how related to artistic, technical, commercial and production tasks of the creative economy in the internationalising markets and especially the interconnection of these fields. The aim is to achieve this know-how by courses in which subject and professional teachers concentrate on content provision, technical implementation and commercial viewpoints within the limits of current production tasks.

Professional status
Bachelors of Culture and Arts graduated from the option of Digital Sound and Commercial Music can work in the internationalising music industry e.g. as recording engineers, mixing engineers, record producers, producers of musical content for diverse media, sound designers, programme sellers as well as in marketing and distribution tasks and in diverse work tasks in the service of record companies and music production companies.

Students graduated from the option of Digital Sound and Commercial Music can produce music for the modern digital online and offline media from sound recording to ready for publishing products. Key fields include the diverse phases of record production (e.g. composition and writing of the lyrics, creation and development of band projects), midi, recording technique, digital sound processing, surround sound, sound design, film music, mobile and network applications of music, studio production, concert sound reproduction, event production, creative economy (especially music industry) business economy, marketing skills of creative economy, project and teamwork skills and communication and language skills.

The themes include e.g. stereo recording, surround recording, business-oriented producer training, sound design, film music, basics of mobile and network applications of music, concert sound and event production, record production, new techniques and advanced studies and creative economy enterprise project. Learning outcomes and aims of programme / academic year

1st year: Students master the basics of digital sound, recording production and business administration.

2nd year: Students´ know-how expands to diverse formats of music production, concert sound and event production.

3rd year: Students are familiarised with working life by means of practical training, implement a studio production project and are familiarised with the newest techniques.

4th year: Students´ know-how is deepened in production techniques and business administration and they also continue their familiarisation with working life by means of practical training and demonstrate their know-how in the bachelor´s thesis.

shooting, recording, drawing, editing, finishing and mastering
marketing and distribution of ready products
