Completion of Degree Programme in Entrepreneurship and Team Leadership curriculum studies and achievement of related competence objectives.
Profile of the Programme
The degree is a Bachelor's Degree -level professional higher education degree.
The degree complies with the criteria set by the Finnish national degree system as well as with the European framework for degrees and other competences.
Key Learning Outcomes
The basis for the values of the education lay in building and strengthening an entrepreneurial attitude, communicational skills and continuously developing competence and knowledge of the team and oneself. These values are in line with and concretize the common values of Tampere University of Applied Sciences: sense of community, respect for the individual and individual differences, sustainable development and appreciation of expertise and entrepreneurship.
Proakatemia offers the possibility for team entrepreneurship, international work and unique networks. The value path of Proakatemia, trust, boldness, actions, learning and success, describes the learning process.
Important learning methods at Proakatemia are dialogue, reading professional literature and producing essays, seminars, innovation tasks and customer projects. Therefore the studies at Proakatemia require active participation and presence during all semesters (in total for 3,5 years). Especially, commitment to work in the team enterprise during the studies is required.
The students at Proakatemia have a strong network and will be regularly supported, and in case of any problems helped by their coach, tutors, student counsellors, (foreign) student ambassadors, study secretaries, etc.

• Free-Choice Studies (15 ECTS credit points),
• International Practical Training (30 ECTS credit points)
• Bachelor’s Thesis (15 ECTS credit points)
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
About 40 % of the graduates continue as entrepreneurs, and the rest find employment in diverse tasks in the working life. The interests discovered during the studies guide their career choices. In many cases, the graduates find employment through the contacts acquired during the studies.
Access to Further Studies
After BBA graduation, you will be eligible to apply for a Master's degree programme in Finland or abroad.
TAMK School of Business and Services also runs further studies in an internationally competitive, English-taught Master's degree programme in International Business Management and Master's degree programme in Educational Leadership. To apply for a University of Applied Sciences Master's programme you must have two years of work experience from the field after your BBA graduation.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Assessment of study performances is based on TAMK assessment criteria.
The detailed assessment criteria can be found in course implementation plans. The teaching and assessment methods are agreed on with students at the beginning of each course.
Graduation Requirements
Completion of studies and achievement of competence objectives in the extent set by the curriculum.
Mode of Study
Day time studies. Team enterprise is the learning environment in this Degree Program, so the studies require commitment to the objectives of the team enterprise.
Development of the Programme
The Ministry of Education and Culture’s definitions of policy and TAMK’s strategy have been considered in the curriculum.
The Degree Programme will be continuously developed based on the feedback from the students and employers.

Location and time
Please see the Pakki/Lukkarikone apps and follow the information on Proakatemia's and your team's communication channels. In general, the training sessions take place twice a week, four hours at a time, at Proakatemia unless otherwise arranged.
Exam schedules
There are no traditional exams. The team participates in Proakatemia's events i.e. Tiimidiili, sales days, 24H, and demonstrates skills and knowledge by solving real-life business cases. The coach may add or modify cases according to the needs of the team.

Active participation in training sessions, dialogue, reflection. Self-, peer- and coach evaluation reflecting the set goals.

Teaching methods
There are hardly any traditional lectures or exams at Proakatemia. Learning methods and environments are for example training sessions, (primings, dialogue, workshops, independent studying), literature, writing, and publishing, expert lectures and other fact-finding, project work, seminars, learning cells, and common events. Learning is connected with business projects. The teampreneurs are responsible of the content of the training sessions, in co-operation with their coach.

Student workload
During each semester the team organizes 132 h of training sessions, and every teampreneur participates a minimum of 120 h. If prevented, it is possible to cross-pollinate.

- getting ready personally (pre tasks, if given)
- reflection.
Training sessions take normally 2 x 4 h per week. In addition, 40 hours of other teamwork is required.

Completion alternatives
In general, teampreneurs participate in the training sessions of their own team enterprise. If prevented or needed for learning, it is possible to cross-pollinate in the training sessions of other teams at Proakatemia or other team academies or similar learning organizations.
If the teampreneur participates in student exchange, their training sessions are replaced with studies in the destination.
Practical training and working life cooperation
The content of the studies is connected with real-life business projects' needs.
International connections
As the business grows and/or there are international projects, international business-related content will be learned in training sessions.
Further information
Studies at Proakatemia are integrated into teampreneurs businesses. It is not possible to study separate courses of the curriculum without special arrangements.

The student has actively and constructively participated in the training sessions and teamwork of their team as required (120 + 40 hours). Students know the content well enough to be able to use it in practice in their team enterprise. Their dialogue skills have improved. They operate according to the chosen values and procedures.

Lack of hours. The student knows the concepts only superficially or is not able to apply them in practice in his/her team enterprise. The student does not operate according to the chosen values and procedures.

It is hard for them to attend a simple conversation or create a short text. Their pronunciation causes difficulties to understand meanings of produced speech.

Students have been able to complete all the assignments. Students have an active attitude towards studying Finnish language showing that by completing tasks according to the schedule. They are able to cope in the most common simple everyday situations. Students can use typical grammatical structures e.g. basic verb conjugation, possessive structure and partitive in simple sentences. They can write brief texts and pronounce Finnish quite clearly.

Students have been able to complete all the assignments acceptably. They have a positive and active attitude towards learning language. Teaching methods
In Finnish 1, your goal is to learn basic information about Finnish language and culture. To support this goal, you will have regular classroom meetings with the course teacher. Additionally, you are expected to do independent work outside the classroom.
To show your progress in the course, you need to take part in two course exams (mid exam and final exam).
Learning materials
You will need a physical or digital copy of Suomen mestari 1 (2020). We will use the same book in the second course as well. In addition to this, you will get study material from the teacher as well.
You can look for a copy of Suomen mestari 1, for example, in an online store, local library (in Tampere), or online marketplace (e.g., Tori.fi).
Student workload
You will have 2 x 1,5 h classroom meetings every week. In addition to this, you are expected to do independent study work 1,5-3 hours a week. The independent work can include, for example, home work, course assignments, discussions with local people, and use of language learning apps.
Notice that it can be difficult – if not impossible – to pass the course without any independent work. Classroom meetings are more like an introduction to the study topics while you will extend your knowledge with independent work.

Students have been able to complete all the assignments acceptably and attended contact lessons at least 80 %. Students have an active attitude towards studying Finnish language showing that by completing course tasks according to the schedule. They are able to cope in everyday conversations related to topics studied in the course. Students can write short texts about their home, travelling or work. They can pronounce Finnish clearly enough. Students are able to use typical grammatic structures e.g. local cases and past tenses in simple sentences.

They can pronounce Finnish distinctively. They manage quite well in everyday conversations related to topics studied in the course. They can write simple texts quite correctly and recombine words and phrases into new sentences so that used typical grammatic structures are almost correct. They understand the importance of good Finnish language skills to get a job in Finland.
Location and time
We will have two meetings in a week: one contact class and one online class.
The contact class will be on Thursdays 2.15-3.45.
The class will take place in Kamppi campus, typically on the floor B6.

We will have the online classes on Zoom, and decide the day and time for it in the beginning of the course. You will find the link in Moodle once the course starts.
If you can not attend the online class, you can watch a video recording on your own time.

Based on the tentative plan, the mid exam would take place in late October and the final exam in the beginning of December.

Teaching methods
In Finnish 3, your goal is to extend your knowledge in basic Finnish and learn to describe where and when something happens. To support this goal, you will have regular classroom meetings with the teacher. In addition to this, you are expected to do independent work outside the classroom.
To show your progress in the course, you need to take part in two course exams (mid exam and final exam).
Learning materials
You will need a physical or digital copy of Suomen mestari 2 (2022, the one with a yellowish background). We will study the chapters 1-4.
You can find a copy of Suomen mestari 2, for example, in an online store, local library in Tampere, or online marketplace (e.g., Tori.fi).
Student workload
You will have 2 x 1,5 h course meetings every week. In addition to this, you are expected to do independent study work 2-5 hours a week. The independent work can include, for example, home work, course assignments, discussions with local people, and use of language learning apps.
Notice that it can be difficult – if not impossible – to pass the course without any independent work. Course meetings are more like an introduction to the study topics while you will extend your knowledge with independent work.

There are no traditional exams. The team participates in Proakatemia's events i.e. Tiimidiili, sales days, 24H, and demonstrates skills and knowledge by solving real-life business cases. The coach may add or modify cases according to the needs of the team.

Teaching methods
There are hardly any traditional lectures or exams at Proakatemia. Learning methods and environments are for example training sessions, (primings, dialogue, workshops, independent studying), literature, writing, and publishing, expert lectures and other fact-finding, project work, seminars, learning cells, and common events. Learning is connected with business projects. The teampreneurs are responsible of the content of the training sessions, in co-operation with their coach.

Student workload
During each semester the team organizes 132 h of training sessions, and every teampreneur participates a minimum of 120 h. If prevented, it is possible to cross-pollinate.

Training sessions take normally 2 x 4 h per week. In addition, 40 hours of other teamwork is required.

In general, teampreneurs participate in the training sessions of their own team enterprise. If prevented or needed for learning, it is possible to cross-pollinate in the training sessions of other teams at Proakatemia or other team academies or similar learning organizations.
If the teampreneur participates in student exchange, their training sessions are replaced with studies in the destination.

The content of the studies is connected with real-life business projects' needs.
International connections
As the business grows and/or there are international projects, international business-related content will be learned in training sessions.

The practical training in Proakatemia is carried out by doing projects for the students’ own teamcompany. The student keep a diary of the projects. The diary is used to determine the accumulation of credits. The student must also write pre- and post-project reports, which are discussed with the team and the coach. The practical training is performed via running customer projects in the student's team enterprise. The student will write a diary about the projects and credits will be collected based on those records. Each project must have a project plan and final report, which will be handled together with the team and the coach. The student also gets feedback from the customer.

Teaching methods
Studies start by establishing a team enterprise of appr. 15 - 20 students. Everyone has passed the preparatory courses of the first semester. The students start to work in their team company, find information, learn, read professional literature, and participate in seminars.
There are almost no traditional lectures or exams. Learning is based on doing. The studies consist of team meetings, learning cells, business development, independent information research, and projects. Projects are about i.e. marketing, communications, sales, event organizing, graphical design, project management, innovation, and ict. Nothing forbids implementing projects that your team is interested in (as long as they are legal).
Project studies and practical placements are carried out in customer projects.
Learning materials
At Proakatemia we value reading. You may choose your readings according to your professional interests and current needs from the book lists, or based on recommendations from coaches or other teampreneurs. You'll publish essays in the Bank of Essays. The content is applied to projects, to the team's business and self-development - theory to practice.

There are no traditional exams. The team participates in Proakatemia's events i.e. Tiimidiili, sales days, 24H, and demonstrates skills and knowledge by solving real-life business cases. The coach may add or modify cases according to the needs of the team.

Objectives (course unit)
Students
- produce a finished thesis report and other thesis-related material as regards style and layout
- report, justify and assess thesis-related research methods, implementation and results in accordance with TAMK’s guidelines and research-ethical principles
- present and defend their thesis professionally and in a theoretically justified manner
- give constructive feedback as a peer reviewer
- can communicate in a matter-of-fact style in Finnish, Swedish or English in accordance with the thesis requirements
Content (course unit)
Course is accepted when at least publication of the written report is published, plagiarism check and maturity test accepted.

How to exploit the possibilities of globalization?
How to communicate in a global context?
Why are cultural, ethical and legislative skills important when running global business?

Passed
Student has the needed skills when aiming for global markets. Student knows the ways of exploiting the possibilities of global business. Student is able to act and communicate globally and think locally.
Failed
Student doesn't have the skills needed in global business. Student is not able to make use of the possibilities of going for foreign markets. Student lacks the skills of acting internationally.
