Objectives (course unit)
In this course, the student will learn how to plan, implement, and report on a business project. They will develop their customer understanding and project team management skills as well as emphasize business responsibility.
After completing the course, the student will be able
- to prepare a written project plan.
- to build and manage a project team in a goal-oriented way.
- to report on the project phases, results, and their activities as a leader.
- to use appropriate digital platforms to support project management.

Passed
Based on the theoretical knowledge and working in a team, the student demonstrates the ability to manage a project according to its objectives and requirements. Students will demonstrate their ability to lead a project team and develop their management skills. The student will document the different stages, objectives, and results of a project from the project plan to the final report.
Failed
The student has no evidence of project management skills.
Location and time
During the studies in a real business project where the studets works as a leader or in a leading position.
Exam schedules
There is no exam. Project management skills are demonstrated by
- managing a business project
- management literature
- a written report (with management literature references)
containing feedback on your leadership performance.
The document will be returned to the coach and published in the Portfolio Bank.
Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is based on
- self-evalutation: what was the success of the project
- peer-evaluation: feedback especially on leadership skills from other teampreneurs
- coach's evaluation in development discussions
- customer feedback.
Evaluation is written in the project report.

Teaching methods
There are hardly any traditional lectures or exams at Proakatemia. Learning methods and environments are for example training sessions 'paja' (primings, dialogue, workshops, independent studying), literature, writing and publising, expert lectures and other fact-finding, project work, seminars, learning cells and common events. Learning is connected with business projects. Project Management is learnt by leading a business project.

Student workload
5 cr = 135 hours of student's work, reported in your timesheet.

Further information
Studies at Proakatemia are integrated to teampreneurs businesses. It is not possible to study separate courses of the curriculum without special arrangements.

Approved
The student has demonstrated that he/she comprehends the main concepts of the topic in the context of his/her team enterprise. He/she has applied them in practice together with other team entrepreneurs. The student operates according to the chosen values and procedures.
Failed
The student knows the concepts only superficially or is not able to apply them in practice in his/her team enterprise. The student does not operate according to the chosen values and procedures.
