Sosionomi (AMK) tai opisto- tai ammatillisen korkea-asteen tutkinnoista: sosiaalikasvattaja tai sosiaalikasvattajan tutkintoon rinnastuva opistotasoinen lähikasvattaja, sosiaaliohjaaja, kehitysvammaisten ohjaaja tai kehitysvamma-alan ohjaaja, sosiaalialan ohjaaja tai diakonin tutkinto, johon sisältyy sosiaaliohjaajan koulutus tai vastaava ulkomainen tutkinto.

Lisäksi vaaditaan kaksi vuotta työkokemusta, joka on kertynyt haussa käytettävän tutkinnon suorittamisen jälkeen. Työkokemuksen on oltava hankittu kevään haussa 31.7. mennessä.Työkokemus ilmoitetaan täysinä kuukausina. Osa-aikatyö muunnetaan kokoaikaiseksi siten, että 150 tuntia tai 20 täysimittaista työpäivää (vähintään 7 tuntia päivää kohti) vastaa yhtä kuukautta. Työkokemuksen ei tarvitse olla yhtäjaksoista eikä saman työnantajan palveluksessa hankittua. Vain sellainen työkokemus hyväksytään, josta hakijalla on esittää työtodistus. Yrittäjyys hyväksytään työkokemukseksi, jos siitä on todistus, joka osoittaa, että hakija on tai on ollut YEL- tai MYEL-vakuutettu.
Työkokemukseksi ei lueta työharjoittelua eikä työssä oppimista, jos ne sisältyvät haussa käytettyyn tutkintoon. Myöskään varusmiespalvelusta, siviilipalvelusta tai hoitovapaata ei lasketa työkokemukseksi.
Ammattikorkeakoulujen ylempään AMK-tutkintoon johtavaan koulutukseen haetaan valtakunnallisessa korkeakoulujen yhteishaussa.

Recognition of Prior Learning

At TAMK, it is possible to credit previous higher education studies acquired at a corresponding level of education as well as previously acquired competence (AHOT) that has been achieved, for example, through work experience, courses, hobbies, etc. with.
The student's previously acquired competence is usually mapped at the beginning of the studies when drawing up a personal study plan (HOPS). The principles related to the recognition of studies and competence are described in the Degree Regulations.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

TAMK's Board decides on the grounds for student admission. The selection is carried out by means of a joint or separate search. TAMK provides students seeking to study social and health care with information on the requirements concerning their state of health and functional capacity. A person who is not capable of practical tasks related to studies due to his or her state of health or functional capacity cannot be admitted as a student.

A previous decision to cancel a study place may also be an obstacle to admission, if this is required for reasons related to the protection of the health or safety of other persons. TAMK will consider on a case-by-case basis whether the earlier cancellation decision has an impact on the field of study.

Profile of the Programme

The aim of the Master's Degree Programme of Social Services is to
develop working practices in the social field by providing specialized
expertise in social work and case management. Education provides
capacity for research development and social innovation including in
international settings. It also provides capacity for development of
social services and management. A Student is able to do individual planning also trough free-choice studies. Education meets national (NQF)
and European (EQF(7)) objectives for higher education degrees.

Key Learning Outcomes

Social work is guided by the UN Human Rights Principles. These
principles form the basis for the value of the degree.

3. Promoting social inclusion in communities and society
4. Combating discrimination and violence
5.Poverty reduction

The main topics studied in the degree programme are contents
related to social work, disadvantage, case management, service
structures and ethics. Competence in the management and
development of wellbeing services in a complex and international
environment forms an important part of the studies. Common themes
of all courses are sustainable development, digitalization of social
services and economy of wellbeing

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples

The education programme produces the title of Master of Social
Services. This degree in the social field gives you the same
qualifications for a public post or position as any other master’s
degree. The programme provides the capacity to reform and develop
professional skills in the field of social services and managing
multidisciplinary networks.

Masters of Social Services can find themselves in demanding social
client roles, managerial positions, service design, management or
administration, or service developers. Through the student’s choices
the degree provides the ability to strategically develop an organization
and to manage human resources and expertise. Graduates may also
find themselves in development, training and management positions
in the international labour markets and -enviroments.

Access to Further Studies

After graduation, student can apply for pedagogic studies as a teacher and get a teaching qualification.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Evaluation is based on TAMK's general evaluation criteria. The implementation and evaluation of teaching follows TAMK's degree regulations.

Graduation Requirements

Completion of studies and achievement of learning outcomes to the extent specified in the curriculum.

Mode of Study

The degree can be completed in 1.5 - 2,5 years (average 2 years) and can be completed along with the job. Student guidance is done through contact and network guidance. Learning is supported by diverse variety of pedagogical solutions, including personal guidance and peer guidance. The pedagogical basis of the education is based
on the principles of continious learning, whereby the student has the main responsibility for the progress of his / her own learning.

The Master's Degree Program in Social Services (90 ECTS) consists
of study units (60 ECTS) and thesis (30 ECTS). The basic unit of
study design is a credit point, which corresponds to a workload of
approximately 27 hours. The calculated number of credits in one
academic year is 60 credits

Development of the Programme

The curriculum is developed in cooperation with TAMK's other master's degree programs and applied research. Cooperation with working life is realized through theses, projects and project ideas, as well as regular network cooperation and advisory board activities. Feedback from students is collected annually in connection with different courses and personal learning plan interviews. Feedback from graduates is collected regularly in the form of electronic surveys.

The main themes of the course are vcovered. The student is proficient in the theoretical background of social work. Student defines the concepts, and reflects them to their own thinking, experiences and perceptions. The student is able to analyze the work orientations of social work based on theoretical understanding in a comprehensive and versatile way and to apply the knowledge obtained in practice.

The student has a clear and diverse understanding of the theoretical background of social work and is able to critically analyze the theoretical basis of social work orientations. - being able to select and delimit a topic for a working life based thesis, which supports the student’s own learning, and to write a thesis plan according to TAMK’s thesis instructions
- being able to use national and international sources and adhere to copyrights in planning the thesis,
- being able to choose the proper data collection and analysis methods, to consider the matters regarding data protection as well as the ethical principles of the field in question.

- presenting orally the justification and evaluation of the research methods, implementation, and the results of the thesis.
