Special Admission Requirements
Master's degree is designed for those who have completed a bachelor’s degree in bioanalyst or previous equivalent college degree and who have at least two years of work experience in a relevant field after graduation.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Accreditation of studies means that a student can accredit studies completed in higher education institutions towards their degree, provided that they meet the learning outcomes of the relevant education. EQF7 level studies completed in higher education can be included in the optional studies. The application is made in accordance with a separate guideline of the TAMK.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The programme corresponds to the competence framework described in European Qualification Framework (EQF) and the National Quality Framework (NQF). EQF enables lifelong learning and the flexibility of degrees within Europe. The master’s degree corresponds to the competence level 7
Profile of the Programme
The Master's degree programme in Master's Degree Programme in Biomedical Laboratory Science leads to a Master's degree in Health Care (90 credits).
The studies include 30 credits of advanced professional studies, with specific content areas offered in different semesters.
Key Learning Outcomes
Through education, the student will gain a theoretical knowledge of the particular field of bioanalytics and the ability to acquire evidence-based knowledge as a basis for action. During their studies, students learn to critically evaluate the actions and development of the chosen field. After graduation, the student will be able to develop activities based on evidence and taking into account international development trends.

Access to Further Studies
The master’s degree from a university of applied sciences produces the same eligibility for postgraduate studies as a master’s degree from a university.

Graduation Requirements
Completion of studies and achievement of competence objectives in the extent set by the curriculum.
Mode of Study
The scope of the degree is 90 cr. It consists of both classroom meetings (2-4 days/month) and independent work. The amount of independent study is large in the programme. The studies can be completed in 1.5-2 years alongside work.

The Degree Programme includes 30 ECTS of Optional Studies. With optional studies, the student supplement her/his skills according to your spesific professional needs.
Development of the Programme
Curricula are developed together with other Universities of Applied Sciences and other Master's programs in Tampere University of Applied Sciences. With clinical practice different co-operation projects are included in the program, such as Thesis projects. There are also regular meetings and networking with clinical practice in the field.

- keeping up with and advancing the development of their field, applying the knowledge, theories, central terms, methods, and principles of their field critically in their own thesis
- being able to apply the suitable research approach in their thesis
- being able to implement the thesis according to plan, while taking advantage of the guidance offered.

Objectives (course unit)
Student
• Can analyze and develop own's activities in research, development, innovation and/or know-how (RDI) project or project work.
• Is capable of planning and implementing research projects related to social and healthcare as well as the well-being and health technology development and innovations as part of a RDI team.
• Learns to identify and develop new solutions as a member of a RDI team.
• Understands innovation processes and can apply them in the context of social- and healthcare.
• Masters project management principles and tools and is able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Acts in accordance with ethical principles of research and development activities, including patient safety and data protection.
• Is capable of reporting the results of RDI activities clearly and effectively, considering the aforementioned objectives.
Content (course unit)
Working either in TAMK's external funding or in a RDT project of another organization.
The student agrees on the project work and its reporting with their teacher tutor and the person working on the project.
A plan for RDT-Working is first written, which is approved by the teacher tutor. At the end of the work, the student writes a RDT report, based on which the course is evaluated.
The scope is 5 credits = 135 hours (1 credit = 27 hours of student work).
