Objectives (course unit)
The student
- knows the basics of ethical action related to the professional field and is able to apply theoretical knowledge in nursing care for a long-term or neurologically ill child and family
- knows the different phases of the nursing care processes for children and families of different ages as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- knows the basics of medical care for a child with a long-term illness
- knows the theoretical and functional basics of children’s medicine and fluid therapy
- knows the importance of evidence-based knowledge in nursing care for children and families and in developing the work community
- is responsible for the theoretical development of his / her own competence in long-term care for the child and the family

Prerequisites (course unit)
At the beginning of alternative vocational studies, the student must have completed 135 credits. These should include theoretical studies and orientation to practical training in the area which the student has chosen for alternative vocational studies, as well as studies in anatomy and physiology. The required area is Paediatric Nursing. It is recommended that the student has completed at least one practical training in the area of paediatric nursing.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
The student
- has only a poor grasp of the basics of ethical action related to their professional field but knows satisfactorily how to apply theoretical knowledge in nursing care for a long-term or neurologically ill child and family
- has an incomplete understanding of the different phases of the nursing care processes for children and families of different ages as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- knows in part the basics of medical care for a child with a long-term illness
- has a narrow understanding of the theoretical and functional basics of children's medicine and fluid therapy in a long-term illness but performs perfectly the medication calculation and fluid therapy tasks
- has a narrow understanding of the importance of evidence-based knowledge in nursing and development in working life for children and families
- takes responsibility for the theoretical development of his/her own expertise in long-term care for the child and the family in nursing
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
The student
- knows the basics of ethical action related to their professional field and is able to apply theoretical knowledge in nursing care for a long-term or neurologically ill child and family
- knows the different phases of the nursing care process for children and families of different ages as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- knows the basics of medical care for a child with a long-term illness
- knows the theoretical and functional basics of children's medicine and fluid therapy for a long-term illness and performs perfectly medical calculations and fluid therapy tasks
- understands the importance of evidence-based knowledge in nursing for children and families and in developing the work community
- takes responsibility for the theoretical development of his/her own expertise in long-term illness in child and family nursing.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
The student
- has an extensive understanding of the basics of professional ethics and is able to apply diverse theoretical knowledge in nursing for a long-term or neurologically ill child and family
- knows comprehensively the different phases of the care processes for children and families of different ages as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- knows the basics of medical care for a child with a long-term illness
- knows well the basics of medical care for a long-term illness of a child
- knows well the theoretical and functional basics of medicine and fluid therapy and performs correctly on medication calculations and fluid therapy tasks
- understands comprehensively the importance of evidence-based knowledge in nursing and in developing working life for children and families;
- takes a full, methodical responsibility for the theoretical development of his/her own competence in long-term illnesses in child and family nursing care

21shlas2 alkukoke examissa: Suoritus 6.6.2024 mennessä.Hylätyn suorituksen uusimiseksi voit ilmoittautua uusintana samaan kokeeseen, kun ensimmäinen on arvioitu.
- Osa 2 Hoitotyön 1 (Stiinan) koe 13.2 paperisena., uusintakoe 1 examissa 22.2.-7.3.24, uusintakoe 2 examissa 8.3.-25.3.24
- Osa 3 Hoitotyön 2 (Katriinan) koe Examissa 14.2.-2.3. uusintakoe 1. 11.3.-2.4. uusinta 2 8.-26.4.
- Osa 4 lääkelasku koe yhdessä teoriakokeen kanssa 14.-1.3., uusintakoe erillisenä examissa 6.6. asti, hylätyn uusintasuorituksen uusimiseksi voit ilmoittautua samaan uusintaan, kun ensimmäinen on arvioitu.
- Osa 5 nesteohjelman suunnittelu paperikokeena 13.2. ja uusintakokeet examissa vkosta 4 eteenpäin.
- Osa 6 lääketiede ja muut erityistieteet: osa 1 13.2. kokeessa (Stiina). ja osa 2 Examissa suoritettavassa kokeessa (Katariina)

- osa 7 pienryhmätyöskentely: seminaariesityksen valmistaminen ja esittäminen, vertaisarviointi, oppimispäiväkirja hyväksytty/hylätty,
- osa 8 moodlekurssit, testit suoritettu hyväksytysti
- osa 9 lääke/nestehoidon pajat: aktiivinen osallistuminen

Suoritettuna hoitotyön alku- ja keskivaiheen opinnot, vähintään 135 op sisältäen Lasten, nuorten hoitotyön –opintokokonaisuuden, ja Lasten ja nuorten hoitotyön orientoivan harjoittelun.
Lasten ja nuorten hoitotyön vaihtoehtoiset ammattiopinnot moodlesta tarkemmat ohjeet tehtävistä ja esitysseminaareista.
