Objectives

Objective of the module
The student acquires a positive attitude to research and understands that research information is part of his/her professional skills. The student becomes familiar with the concepts, principles and strategies of gathering information and understands the various phases of the information acquisition process. The student becomes familiar with various information gathering methods, databases and information search services, he/she learns how to use them and to apply various skills independently in searching for information. The student learns how to gather information in many ways and to estimate critically various sources of information. The student becomes acquainted with research and its processes and he/she will understand the significance of research in developing work practices. The student becomes familiar with the most common research methods and he/she learns how to use them in an appropriate way. The student is able to use theoretical and conceptual knowledge in various environments. The student knows how to report on findings in written form. The student can produce, describe and analyse statistics.
