Furthermore, the objective is to provide the student with project management skills and readiness to innovation and development of wellbeing technological products and services for promotion of the wellbeing and health of individuals and population. The special objectives are to acquaint the student with the different application areas of wellbeing technology and to give the student abilities in universal and user-driven planning, health technology and wellbeing robotics, management of technology and product development projects, and research, development and innovation (R&D&I) methods.

PROFESSIONAL STATUS
In the area of wellbeing technology organisations need experts who have a master-level education in engineering, health care or social services and know the challenges and possibilities of the application area of wellbeing technology.

BASIC VALUES OF EDUCATION
Wellbeing technology refers to different technical and technological solutions maintaining or improving the quality of life, wellbeing or health of human beings. The guidelines of the education are life cycle thinking, sustainable development and ethicality.

TEACHING METHODS
The studies are partly carried out jointly for the students of the fields of technology, communication and transport and health care and social services. The studies are multimodal, there will be two days of contact teaching approximately every other week in the autumn and spring terms.

STRUCTURE OF STUDIES
The studies consist of a thesis (30 cr), which is a development project in wellbeing technology, advanced professional studies (field of technology, communication and transport 25 cr, field of health care and social services 55 cr) and elective studies (5 cr).

In advanced professional studies the student increases his/her knowledge and skills in relation to wellbeing technology. The student can increase his/her know-how with elective studies according to his/her development project or professional special needs.

CREDIT TRANSFER FOR STUDIES

Level, contents and extent

The student can propose credit transfer on the basis of his/her prior professional specialisation studies, master-level studies or other studies of a higher level. On the basis of the course descriptions the student can think of in which courses credit transfer would be possible as regards the level of the course, correspondence of contents or extent. Entire courses are not transferred on the basis of a) studies completed more than five years ago, b) work experience or c) the student's prior education studies that gave eligibility for the degree programme.

Evaluation of transferred courses

The credit transfer is always based on the certificate of the educational institution which has given the original evaluation. The studies forming the basis for the credit transfer will be stated in the transcript of records. The grade S = Pass is used. The grades of studies completed in Finnish Online University of Applied Sciences and TAMK’s open higher education are as such transferred to the student's study attainments.

Partial credit transfer

The student can propose partial credit transfer to the teacher in charge of the course. The teacher defines which parts of the course still have to be completed and how the student can complete them. The teacher evaluates the course as usual. Depending on the nature of the course the student's earlier completed course parts are taken into consideration in the evaluation or the evaluation will be made solely on the basis of the final level. In the evaluation the teacher can take into consideration the proportion of the earlier and current parts in the whole course.

Credit transfer practice and time

The student applies for credit transfer for entire courses with the intranet form Credit transfer for studies. He/she prints and signs the form and delivers it with the certificate copies to the teacher in charge. In connection with credit transfer for elective studies the student also justifies how the studies to be transferred support the development project or are connected to some other professional special need. The student can propose credit transfer during his/her whole study time.
