Description

As a Bachelor of Business Administration specializing in HR and supervisory work, you have up-to-date basic knowledge of business economics as well as specialized expertise in HR and supervisory work. You are capable of operating in multicultural networks and work sustainably and innovatively by utilizing the opportunities of digitalization. You also know how to develop both your own skills and those of your work community.

Content
The education is a multi-modal study program consisting of both in-person and distance learning. Distance learning involves studying through literature and various learning tasks, as well as online learning using digital tools and remote connections. You can integrate your studies with your work through projects, development tasks, theses, and internships. You can get credit for previously completed applicable higher education studies and prior learning. You have the opportunity to get credit for your internship or complete it in your current job if the work is related to the field of education and is at the level of Bachelor of Business Administration studies.

Structure of Studies
The Bachelor of Business Administration degree comprises 210 ECTS credits. The duration of the degree is 3.5 years, but it can be shorter depending on your prior learning or faster progress in your studies. The degree is divided into the following components: basic and professional studies (120 ECTS), elective professional studies (30 ECTS), freely elective studies (15 ECTS), internship (30 ECTS), and thesis (15 ECTS).

Thesis
In your thesis, you demonstrate your ability to independently apply your knowledge and skills in a practical expert task related to your studies. The thesis is usually a planning or development project commissioned by a company or organization. You will find the topic for your thesis yourself. The thesis can also be done as a pair or group work and can integrate different fields, but the topic must still relate to business economics expertise.

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree program is broad-based. The expertise of graduates who have studied HR and supervisory work is valued and in high demand in the job market. Possible future job titles include:

With work experience, you can work as an HR Manager or Director, or in other expert, supervisory, managerial, and leadership positions requiring business economics expertise in the private or public sector.

Internationalization

Further Study Opportunities
You have the opportunity to apply for a Master's degree at a university of applied sciences after gaining at least two years of work experience in the field after completing your degree. The education also provides the opportunity to continue studies in, for example, university master's programs.

As a degree student at TAMK, you have the opportunity to choose courses from the offerings of Tampere University according to your personal study plan. Through this cross-study option, you can participate in university courses, joint projects, and thus build your individual expertise. You can also take courses at other universities of applied sciences through the national course offerings.
