Objectives

Students
- can apply the theoretical knowledge related to quality in practical laboratory work and know the basic concepts and methods of quality management
- recognize and identify the most important morphological findings and pathological changes in blood slides using Labquality’s education services
- can evaluate cervical smears according to morphological criteria
- can evaluate quality of Gram-stained slides (from bacterial colony and blood culture), identify findings and evaluate her/his own know-how
- can evaluate the quality of ECG registration and the results of flow-volume spirometry and are able to identify normal findings and disorders

Content

Labquality’s education services, Labquality´s external quality assessment
EQA programmes for all fields of laboratory medicine and POC.
Microscopy and identification of clinical microbiology quality control samples (Gram stain preparation)
Identification of ECG and flow-volume spirometry findings through case studies
Evaluation of cervical smears according to morphological criteria and by internet-based test

Prerequisites

The student must have passed Field-Specific Studies in Laboratory Examination Processes
