Objectives
The aim of the course is to develop competences from the perspective of a person having medical illnesses or being in palliative care.
After completing the course, the student
• Knows the basics of planning, implementing and evaluating nursing for patients with medical illnesses and in palliative care.
• Knows the basics of Drugs for Medical Conditions and palliative care.
• Understands the meaning of falling ill in medical illnes and being in palliative care.
• Knows how to plan and implement the self-care guidance of a person having medical illness and in palliative care.
• Understands the importance of multi-professional cooperation in nursing of patients with medical illnesses and palliative care.
• Knows the importance of genomic information in the Nursing of the medical illnesses.

• Nursing of a person with cardiovascular disease
• Nursing of a person with diabetes

The student

• Knows the basics of drug medical condition for persons with medical illnesses and palliative care.
• Recognizes the significance of falling ill with medical illnesses and being in palliative care.
• Knows the basics of guidance, planning and implementation of self-care for persons with medical illnesses and in palliative care.
• Knows the importance of multiprofessional cooperation in Nursing of persons with medical illnesses and palliative care.
• Knows the importance of genomic information in Nursing of persons with medical illnesses.
Failled:
The student does not meet the evaluation criteria at a satisfactory level, or due to lack of Nursing competence causes danger, harm, injury or death to the person.

• Can justify the medical treatment of a person having medical illnesses and in palliative care.
