Objectives
After completing this course, the student will understand the principles related to the responsible use of artificial intelligence and be able to analyze the impacts of AI solutions on individuals, society, and organizations. The student will be capable of evaluating issues concerning data protection and ethics in AI solutions and recognizing algorithmic biases and their underlying mechanisms. The student will be familiar with current AI-related regulations and understand how these regulations influence the development and application of AI.
Additionally, the student will be able to apply the principles of explainable AI and address the responsible use of AI in practical scenarios through case examples. The student will also understand the principles of sustainable development and be able to assess the sustainability of AI solutions and their role in advancing sustainable development.
Content
• Data protection and the use of AI
• Algorithmic biases and their identification
• AI ethics and social responsibility
• Regulations and governance in general and across various industries
• Applying sustainable development principles in AI projects
• Explainable AI (XAI)
• Practical case examples of responsible AI implementation
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student recognizes the key principles of responsible AI use at a basic level—such as data protection and ethical considerations—but applies them only superficially. They can mention examples of possible algorithmic biases and are familiar with current regulations in a very general sense.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
The student can analyze the impacts of AI solutions on individuals, society, and organizations while taking into account principles of responsibility, including data protection and sustainability aspects. They identify the underlying mechanisms of algorithmic bias and can propose ways to reduce them, applying up-to-date regulations through practical examples. The student understands the importance of explainability (Explainable AI) and can apply it at a basic level.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student demonstrates an in-depth understanding of responsible AI use and can fully integrate ethical, social, and sustainability perspectives into AI projects. They identify and analyze more complex algorithmic biases and develop clear strategies to mitigate them. The student is well-versed in AI regulations and governance requirements, and is capable of applying Explainable AI principles more comprehensively.
