The following learning methods are used in coaching:
- coaching sessions of the team
- introduction and knowledge building sessions for business skills
- various ideation methods
- professional literature and essays
- working life projects, reflection and feedback.
The methods applied in coaching are the methods used in TAMK entrepreneurship unit proAcademy. The coaching is based on both team coaching and students’ individual coaching. The central aspects of coaching are challenging and motivating students, defining learning and project goals, joint knowledge building, responsibility and project management.
The learning processes are defined individually for each team, depending on their interests, skills level, degree programme and projects. The business skills coaching includes sales, marketing, customer and customer service, company law, project work skills and management, depending on the needs of the project and the team.
The coaching is carried out by the coaches of proAcademy and degree programmes of art and media. A young student of entrepreneurship from proAcademy also takes part in coaching as project coach.
The working life projects are carried out in teams. They may be related to the students’ field of study and a teacher of a professional subject may be involved in guiding the project. The students are expected to write a project plan and a final report of the projects. The money transactions for the projects are handled through the co-operative Voimala. The students may join the co-operative for the duration of the project.
