Objective of course:
Students
-know the main concepts of nursing science
-understand the meaning of mental health as part of health and wellbeing
-recognise their own relation to mental health and the attitudes and values guiding their work
-know the principles of patient and group education and can use different kinds of education methods
-know the main principles of nursing of patients suffering from dependence problems
-know the social and health care service systems for people suffering from mental health problems and substance abuse
-know the main principles of professional actions in threatening situations
-have basic knowledge about crisis interventions and mental first aid

Teaching methods:

Participation in the course on orientation to nursing profession
