Objectives
The students recognise the most common building construction structures and the limits they impose on building services engineering. They are able to interpret constructional documents. The students are able to describe the planning and implementation processes of a construction project, as well as the collaboration procedures with designers and contractors. The students are able to work in the production planning process of a building construction site. They know the general practices and the most important safety aspects of construction sites.
Content
Basics of construction: structures, building elements, materials and fittings and external structures. Constructional design and documentation. The significance of structures for energy efficiency. Stages of a construction project, its parties and their most important tasks. Contracts and contract forms, monitoring and scheduling techniques, site planning. Design, meeting and collaboration practices of the implementation phase. Occupational safety at a building construction site.
