Scope and duration: 90 cr, 1.5-2 years.

COMPETENCY PRODUCED BY EDUCATION
The education will provide the competence to work in management or design, development and expert positions.

In the degree programme in the management and development of wellbeing services, students learn to lead personnel in a participatory, coaching and dialogic manner and enable the continuous development of the personnel's competence.
The students learn to assess, identify and intervene in risk factors in the work community and to act as an expert in developing well-being at work.
The students learn to develop and renew safe customer-oriented services and to lead multidisciplinary networks.
The students learn to acquire, apply and develop services from the perspective of impact and sustainable development.
The students learn to lead in change and to recognize the complexity of leadership broadly.


EMPLOYMENT OF GRADUATES IN WORK
Education gives qualification to a public post or position requiring a master's degree. The education also gives eligibility for vocational teacher training. Education is a work-based higher education degree and is comparable to that of EU countries (EQF level 7).

After completing the degree, the student can apply for the teacher’s pedagogical studies either in a university or university of applied sciences and become a qualified teacher. Eligibility for licentiate’s and doctor’s degrees has to be negotiated separately with each faculty.


THE VALUE BASE OF EDUCATION
In the Degree Programme in the Management and Development of Wellbeing Services, students deepen their critical examination of ethical activities in their own field and deepen their competence in the management and development of welfare services. The students base their activities on evidence-based knowledge and take into account different perspectives, such as sustainable development, in their activities.
The student is able to work in his/her profession both independently and in multidisciplinary network cooperation with different actors, respecting the professional skills and competence of others.
The student appreciates the continuous development of his/her own activities, his/her own field and follows the development of his/her own field nationally and internationally.

IMPLEMENTATION OF TEACHING

The degree programme consists of contact teaching days (about 4 days/month) as well as distance learning and independent work. Various independent and participatory work methods, such as teamwork and web-based learning, are used. Every student makes an individual study plan together with the teacher tutor. The studies can be completed in 1.5-2 years alongside work. The implementation of teaching is multimodal teaching.

Curriculum development and working life cooperation

The curriculum has been developed in cooperation with TAMK’s other master’s degree programmes. Working life cooperation is implemented through working life projects, thesis ideas and projects, as well as regular network cooperation, and advisory councils.

Student feedback is collected annually in connection with courses and individual study plan discussions. Alumni feedback is collected regularly through online surveys.
