EDUCATIONAL COMPETENCE
Through education the student theoretically achieves in-depth knowledge of Radiography development expertise and the skills to acquire researched information as a basis for operations. During the studies, the student learns to critically evaluate the operation and development in field of radiography. After graduation, the student knows how to develop own and organization's operations based on evidence and taking into account international development trends.
During the education, the student achieves the competence of a higher university of applied sciences degree in the social and health field, which is comparable with similar degrees in EU countries (EQF 7). The higher university of applied sciences degree gives the same eligibility for public positions and tasks as a higher university degree obtained at a university.
PLACEMENT OF THE GRADUATES IN THE WORKING LIFE
The education provides the skills to work in managerial, development and expert positions in various workplaces in social and health care. Clinical experts with expertise in the development of radiography are equipped for various tasks and projects that require expert expertise and development expertise.
VALUE BASIS
In the education of a clinical expert in radiography, the student deepens the critical examination of ethical activities in his own field and deepens his competence in assessing the need for radiography work and making decisions. The student bases his activities on evidence-based knowledge and takes into account different perspectives in his activities, such as sustainable development.
The student knows how to work in his profession both independently and in multidisciplinary network cooperation, working with different actors or independently while respecting the professionalism and expertise of others. The student values the continuous development of his own activities, himself and his field and follows the development of the field nationally and internationally.

Objectives
The aim for the student is to gain knowledge of the following themes:
• development of expert identity
• evidence-based development of activities and work
• high-quality and ethical management of change
• ethical issues related to the field
• client and family guidance and counselling skills
• client-oriented, multi-professional assessment of the need of care and documentation development
• the digitalisation of the field
Curriculum development and working life cooperation
The curricula are developed in cooperation with TAMK's other Master's Degree Programmes. There is also joint development work and joint implementation with other universities of applied sciences and in national networks.
During studies, a student will cooperate with working life organisations and actors, and the student will also take part in a wide range of national and international projects. Part of the teaching may be carried out in English.
The revised curriculum for radiography development studies has been approved 29.4.2024 by the Council of Higher Education.
