Objectives

Students learn the basics of working life oriented research and development projects and research methods.

After completing the course students will be able to
- carry out practical research projects
- apply project management methods also in other projects

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Students will be able to
- make project plans
- plan the schedule, resources and budget for projects
- apply the basics of Microsoft Project software
- carry out, manage and update projects
- prepare final project reports

RESEARCH BASICS
Students will be able to
- set research problems
- search for basic information for research
- make research plans
- select a suitable type of research
- select a suitable data collection method
- form adequate questions and other measures needed
- apply research evaluation criteria
- apply ethical and juridical criteria in the research process

QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
Students will
- be able to analyse qualitative textual data
- know the principles of case and action research

QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH
Students will
- know the principles of quantitative data collection
- be able to prepare data matrixes on quantitative data
- be able to describe distributions and study differences between groups and relations between variables
- be able to interpret statistical results and describe the principles of statistical reasoning
- be able to make use of statistical software
