Objectives

The student
- is able to analyze the significance and consequences of political guidance behind the delivery of social and health services
- is able to analyze the changes in the service system brought by the reform in social and health care
- knows the legislation governing social and health activities
- becomes acquainted with regional decision-making and processes for solving complex problems

Content

- EU social and health policy guidance
- guidance of the Ministry of social and welfare affairs
- regional strategic planning, guidance, monitoring and evaluation
- legislation of competitive and public acquisition concerning the service providers
- public, private and third sector actors as service providers
- social and health financial management
- the importance of networks in social and health care

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student
- is able to retrieve information related to the topic and to use national and international sources
- Is able to apply the information he/she has collected at a descriptive level to review current practices and policies

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student
- is able to retrieve evidence-based information from both national and international sources and evaluate sources critically
- is able to analyze and synthesize a topic
- Is able to use the information he/she has acquired to evaluate critically and then develop existing practices

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
- is able to retrieve evidence-based information from a variety of national and international sources, evaluate research critically and synthesize the information collected
- demonstrates its in-depth understanding of the subject
- is able to critically evaluate existing practices and develop new evidence-based approaches
