Degree Programme in Construction Architecture: 25I800
Code: 24I800
Description
The degree program of construction architect gives versatile skills to work as a architectural designer and expert in various tasks in the design of the built environment.
The studies and work tasks of building architects require creativity and three-dimensional visualization. The studies include the development of visual and aesthetic vision.
Students of construction architects learn to know and apply planning and project expertise, construction and building technology and customer oriented approach in their studies. International cooperation is an integral part of studies.
The teaching takes into account the environmental effects of construction and sustainable design solutions, which involve low-carbon construction, circular and life-cycle economy of construction, wood construction and the energy efficiency of buildings. This goal is supported by the renovation studies related to the degree program.
Project-based working and Building Information Model -based digital design (BIM) have a central position in the studies.
Curriculum development and working life cooperation
The curriculum is designed to meet the European criteria for architectural study degrees. Feedback from working life, degree alumni and study courses has been taken into account in development of the curriculum.
Future trends in the development of the industry have also been taken into account. There has been a strong shift towards renovation and and the development seems to continue on the same track.
