Objectives

This course deals with the quality, effectiveness and evaluation of social services.

Student:
• is able to define different aspects of quality and its dimensions in social services.
• knows the principles and process of quality management.
• is able to define effectiveness assessment as a concept and related concepts.
• is able to independently plan the evaluation process and critically analyze it.
• knows and identifies the possibilities and limitations of effectiveness assessment.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student knows the principles of quality management. The student is able to plan the different phases of the effectiveness assessment process (input, output, outcome, impact) and knows the key methods of effectiveness assessment in the social field. The student recognizes the importance of quality management and effectiveness assessment as part of decision-making and as part of opera-tions.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student is able to apply the principles of quality management. The student is able to independently plan the different stages of the effectiveness assessment process (input, output, outcome, impact) and is able to apply the key methods of effectiveness assessment in the social field. The student is able to evaluate the significance of quality management and effectiveness assessment as part of decision-making and as part of operations.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to apply and evaluate the principles of quality management. The student is able to independently plan and develop the different stages of the effectiveness assessment process (input, output, outcome, impact) and is able to apply and develop effectiveness assessment methods in the social field. The student is able to justify the use of quality management and effectiveness evaluation results as part of decision-making and to integrate evaluation into operations.
