Objectives

The student
- is able to define the concept of health related fitness and therapeutic training, and knows their principles
- is able to evaluate and analyse the effects of therapeutic exercise
- can use the methods of therapeutic training to improve a person’s well-being
- knows the basics of healthy nutrition
- knows the meaning of urine exertion and endocrine secretion system for body functions
- can search diverse knowledge based on evidence and is able to critically evaluate research reports from different scientific databases
- can use evidence based knowledge when studying the principles of the profession

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Pass
The student is able to define the key concepts of health related fitness.
The student is able to structure phenomena of health related fitness and therapeutic exercise, and identify relationships between these concepts.
The student is able to select therapeutic exercise methods and evaluate them in promoting an individual’s health.
The student returns written assignments as agreed. In these they demonstrate knowledge in the basics of healthy nutrition and the basics of research.
The student gets at least 75% correct in the urinary and endocrine system exam.
The student returns the lecture diary within the agreed time and according to the instructions given. The diary should be comprehensive and have a basis in the theoretical background of the study module.
The student is be able to gather research data from a variety of sources, and use this information critically to support learning.
The student actively participates in the discussions in tutorial group, and participates in making and presenting the presentation in the study module seminar.

Fail
The student defines the key concepts related to physical activity incorrectly.
The student is familiar with the methods of therapeutic practice, but cannot justify the ones chosen.
The student returns the written assignment as agreed, but does not know the basics of healthy nutrition.
The student does not return written assignments related to the basics of nutrition, or the contents do not match the objectives of the study module.
The student gets less than 75% correct in the urinary and endocrine system exam.
The student does not return the lecture diary within the agreed time or does not process any opinions in a way that summarizes and structures the theoretical basis of the study module.
The student does not participate in discussions in the tutorial groups using relevant reference material.
The student does not participate in planning or presenting work for the study unit seminar.
