Students are familiar with the basic concepts of statics. The student is able to solve the equilibrium equations and supporting forces of a rigid piece and simple body systems. The student is able to solve the support forces and loadings of simple statically determined structures and is able to draw a stress pattern.
Content (course unit)
The most important principles and laws of statics. Combining forces. Distribution of forces into components. Balance conditions for particle, rigid body and body system. Solving beam structure, loads and distributed forces.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
The student recognizes the basic concepts and quantities of statics. The student is aware of the laws governing static space and performs the given calculations, if necessary assisted.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
Students are familiar with the laws that govern behavior and perform independently from assigned tasks. The student is able to determine the strengths of the structure and calculate the stresses of the structure independently in simple cases.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
The student is well versed in all aspects of statics and is able to apply his / her skills in solving various structural load situations and calculating forces and stresses.
