Objectives

This course provides students with the essential knowledge to basics of game business and production. It’s a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of game business and production.

This course introduces the fundamentals of of Game Business and Game Production. Upon successful completion, students will
• perform the basic steps and tasks of a game production.
• identify different kind of roles in a game development and production team
• know how to start up business and find out funding
• identify the basics of the revenue models in game industry
• identify the publishing process.

Content

Game Business:
• Overview of the game industry, business models and monetization strategies in gaming.
• Marketing and promotion of games and understanding player demographics and market trends.

Game Production:
• Game development lifecycle and project management and collaboration within game development teams.
• Basics of quality assurance and testing in game production.
