Objectives (course unit)
The Swedish language written course focuses on professional language use in workplace communication situations. The aim of the course is for the student to achieve the written proficiency in Swedish as required by the Language Decree (6.6.2003/424) and necessary for the work in their own professional field.
European Framework of Reference for Languages B1-B2 level.
Students:
- can communicate in field-specific tasks in a multidisciplinary work community in Swedish
- understand and can make use of texts related to their own professional field
- can develop language skills of their own professional field utilizing a variety of learning tools - - understand the significance of communication as part of professional skills

Prerequisites (course unit)
European Framework of Reference for Languages: proficiency level B1-B2.
There is a separate application process for the course. The student demonstrates the required language level according to the application instructions.

- can communicate in several predictable written work-life situations quite fluently.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
The student
- can present themself (education, work experience, skills, duties) and a field-related company/product/process/service/procedure fluently and diversely.
- can communicate even in challenging written work-life situations with ease.
- analyzes, utilizes and applies field-related written sources and instructions.
Location and time
Non-stop implementation: a new intake group starts on the 5th of each month during the spring semester 2026 (January–May). Online implementation. The oral presentation is held at an agreed time via Zoom or Teams (the oral presentation can be completed once a month)
Exam schedules
The written exam for the written component is taken in the EXAM facilities at TAMK or as an EXAM visit at another higher education institution. The student may take the written exam at a time that suits them, once they have completed the required sections in Moodle. Kaksi uusintamahdollisuutta.

For whom?
For students want to study at an accelerated pace to complete their studies and who have the ability to study Swedish of one’s special field both independently and with students from different professional fields. The course is intended for more advanced students whose language proficiency corresponds to levels B1–B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The course does not assume prior use of Swedish in working life, but independent completion of tasks in pairs or groups requires a B1–B2 level of proficiency.
The written component of the Snabbspår course is completed in Moodle, and the exam is taken in the EXAM facilities (an EXAM visit to another higher education institution is also possible).
Prerequisites: European Framework of Reference for Languages B1-B2 level.

Further information
In this course, students can complete the number of credits required by their own degree programme for both components (oral and written). The aim of the course is for the student to achieve oral and written proficiency in Swedish as required by the Language Decree (424/2003) and necessary for professional tasks in their field.
