Objectives (course unit)
The student
• masters theoretical foundations of the collaborative mental health and substance abuse care with families, networks and communities and is capable to critically evaluate and develop practices according to these foundations.
• is capable to critically evaluate and develop clinical practices to meet the needs of the client and in supporting client’s parenthood.
• is capable to lead the collaborative processes together with clients in interdiscplinary and multiprofessional co-operation.
• is competent to critically review and develop the different levels of mental health and substance abuse prevention
Content (course unit)
Dialogical collaboration with families and networks in different agegroups
Responding to families’ needs for support
Supporting parenthood and families, when parent has mental health and/or substance abuse problems
Co-creation and peer support
Interdisciplinary and multiprofessional co-operation
Levels of prevention, activities and contexts of these.
Prerequisites (course unit)
Obligatory previous studies: Dialogical Collaboration 5 ECTS and Advanced clinical practice in mental health and substance abuse nursing 5 ECTS
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
The student
• is able to search for information on the subject and is able to use national and international sources
• is able to apply the collected information at a descriptive level when reviewing current practices and means of action
• does not display a critical evaluation of the topic
• participates in the course inconsistently.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
The student
• is able to seek evidence-based knowledge from both national and international sources, and is able evaluate the sources critically
• is able to construct both analyses and syntheses of the topic
• is able to use the acquired knowledge in critical evaluation and development of current practices
• generally participates in the course actively and professionally.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
The student
• is able to retrieve evidence-based knowledge from a number of national and international sources of information, critically evaluate the studies and synthesise the collected data
• shows a profound command of the subject
• is able to evaluate current practices critically and is able to create new evidence-based practices
• participates in the course actively and professionally.

Opintojakso on suoritettavissa ajanjaksolla 1.1.2026-14.9.2026. (ennakkotehtävä aukeaa ja uusinta II päättyy 14.9.2026). Lähipäivät ovat Tampereella Tampereen ammattikorkeakoulun tiloissa 13-14.5.2026
Läsnäolosuositus, poissaolot korvataan erillisellä poissaoloja korvaavalla tehtävällä.

Intensiivipäivien jälkeisen esseen palautus 31.5.2026 mennessä.
Uusinta I, palautuspäivä on viimeistään 10.8.2026.
Uusinta II, palautuspäivä viimeistään 14.9.2026.
Uusintapäivien jälkeen palautuksia ei oteta vastaan. Arvosanoja ei voi korottaa TAMKin tutkintosäännön mukaisesti Tutkintosääntö ja sitä täydentävät ohjeet | TAMK.

Ennakkotehtävä, luennot, intensiivipäivien jälkeinen tehtäväkokonaisuus, itsenäinen työskentely, pari- ja pienryhmätyöskentely. Menetelmät voivat tarkentua opintojakson alkuun mennessä.
