Objectives (course unit)

The student
- is able to evaluate research and development needs in working life
- is able to choose and apply diverse research and development methods in projects
- is able to plan and implement working life oriented development projects and is able to apply the ideology of continuous development

Content (course unit)

- Research and Development Process, Principles of Design Research
- the design, implementation and evaluation of a development project
- channels for financing development activities

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student
- identifies challenges for the development of social and health services
- is familiar with research and development methods, as well as the basics of the application of design research and research development activities
- is able to come up with a development plan that includes a continuous development ideology, a research development approach and a funding plan

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student
- is able to analyze the challenges of the development of social and health services from different perspectives
- understands the use of research and development methods, design research and the application of research development activities
- is able to come up with a quasi-applicable development plan that includes a continuous development ideology, a research development approach and a funding plan

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student
- is able to critically analyze the challenges and needs of the development of social and health services using evidence-based information
- masters the use of research and development methods and is able to apply them in design research and research development activities
- is able to come up with a viable development plan that includes an ideology for continuous improvement, a research development approach and a financial plan

Opiskelija tunnistaa sosiaali- ja terveyspalvelujen kehittämisen haasteita.
Opiskelija tuntee tutkimus- ja kehittämismenetelmiä, sekä design-tutkimuksen ja tutkimuksellisen kehittämistoiminnan soveltamisen perusteita.
Opiskelija kykenee ideoimaan kehittämissuunnitelman, joka sisältää jatkuvan kehittämisen ideologian, tutkimuksellisen kehittämisotteen ja rahoittamissuunnitelman.

Opiskelija osaa tarkastella sosiaali- ja terveyspalvelujen kehittämisen haasteita eri näkökulmia perustellen.
Opiskelijalla on teoreettisen tason ymmärrys tutkimus- ja kehittämismenetelmien käytöstä ja selkeä käsitys design-tutkimuksen ja tutkimuksellisen kehittämistoiminnan soveltamisesta.
Opiskelija kykenee ideoimaan lähes soveltamiskelpoisen kehittämissuunnitelman, joka sisältää jatkuvan kehittämisen ideologian ja tutkimuksellisen kehittämisotteen ja rahoittamissuunnitelman.

Opiskelija osaa analysoida kriittisesti sosiaali- ja terveyspalvelujen kehittämisen haasteita ja tarpeita relevanttia näyttöön perustuvaa tietoa hyödyntäen.
Opiskelija hallitsee tutkimus- ja kehittämismenetelmien käytön ja osaa soveltaa niitä design-tutkimuksen ja tutkimuksellisen kehittämistoiminnan yhteyteen.
Opiskelija kykenee ideoimaan realistisen ja toteuttamiskelpoisen kehittämissuunnitelman, joka sisältää jatkuvan kehittämisen ideologian, tutkimuksellisen kehittämisotteen ja rahoitussuunnitelman.
