Objectives (course unit)
The core objectives of the course are to understand the main phenomena of mathematics, physics and radiation physics related to the work of a radiographer.
After completion of the course the student:
• masters the basic mathematical methods related to the needs of the education and working life
• knows the basic principles of mechanics, theory of wave motion and electricity and can utilize the information in the equipment technique of the field of study
• knows the magnitude and measurement system of physics
• knows the principles of the safe use of electric equipment
• knows the basic principles of radiation and nuclear physics
• knows the function of x-ray and ultrasound equipment with auxiliary equipment

Opintojaksossa on kaksi tenttiä:
1. matematiikka ja fysiikka. AIKA: ...
2. säteilyfysiikka ja laitetekniikka. AIKA:...
Kummankin osan voi uusia erikseen. Ajat sovitaan yhteisesti opintojakson aikana.
Assessment methods and criteria
Kaksi kirjallista koetta. Molempiin kokeisiin on osallistuttava ja päästävä läpi. Osa 1 = matematiikka ja fysiikka, 2 op. Osa 2 = säteilyfysiikka ja laitetekniikka, 2 op. Toisen osan (säteilyfysiikka ja laitetekniikka) kokeesta on saatava vähintään 1/2 pisteistä, jotta STUKin pätevyysvaatimuksen täyttyisivät. Opintojakson arvosana määräytyy osien arvosanojen painotettuna keskiarvona. Painokertoimet:
Osa 1, matematiikka ja fysiikka, 2 op: painokerroin 50 %
Osa 2, säteilyfysiikka ja laitetekniikka, 2 op: 50 %
Osallistuminen natiiviröntgen- ja UÄ-laitteiden opetukseen (sairaalafyysikko) syksyllä 2025 (HYV/HYL)
