Objectives (course unit)
The student:
- is able to find out the objectives of the forest owner and to reconcile them with the objectives of the legislation, recommendations and the organization he/she represents, and to advise the forest owner on issues related to forest management
- can guide the forest owner to make forest management decisions taking into account social, ecological and economic sustainability
- knows how to plan and implement forestry extension events for different target groups
- knows how to use digital communication channels and social media in forest counseling
- knows how to argue, justify and defend his/her own views
Content (course unit)
Applying legislation and recommendations related to forestry, planning and implementing an advisory situation and related pedagogical competence, finding out the values and goals of a forest owner, personal counseling and related interaction skills
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)
The student is familiar with the relevant legislation and recommendations. Their use as a basis for extension or presentation of their own views is schematic and does not indicate that the forest owner's needs are being taken into account. The student observes the interaction situation only slightly and does not change his / her activity according to the interaction situation. He or she needs guidance and support in arranging the extension session and carrying out the group extension situation.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)
The student is able to use related legislation, recommendations and calculation models to justify his / her views and standard management solutions. He demonstrates the ability to consider the forest owner's goals and needs. The student observes the interaction situation and is able to change his / her activities according to the situation. He/ she is able to organize an on-demand extension session and a group extension session so that the essential learning objectives are achieved.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)
The student is able to naturally and comprehensively integrate forest ownership legislation, recommendations, calculation models, marketing skills, understanding of interaction between different types of people and building a successful forest owner interaction. In organizing and conducting the extension session, he/ she demonstrates the autonomy and creativity that allow for deep learning in the context of the group.
