Learning materials

Kristiina Kuparinen - Terhi Tapaninen - Karoliina Kuisma SUN SUOMI Finnish for beginners From the chapter 10, authentic energy and environmental engineering material, material made or linked on the course-Tabula by the teacher.

Student workload

Two weekly double lessons - as mentioned above - almost the whole autumn term. The break after studying Finnish in the spring causes need to revise before learned. Because this is a 4 ECT course, the total amount of student work has been estimated at least 4 x 27 hours = 108 hours. So quite much independent work is needed to approve the skills of basic Finnish. No huge final exam, but smaller tests and a lot of oral communication. Try your best to make Finnish language your hobby!

Content scheduling

In the beginning of the course revising the contents learnt last year. Then essential Finnish in energy and environmental engineer's work - also a couple of new important structures plus new vocabulary using the last chapters of SUN SUOMI.
