Objectives
Studentunderstands the opportunities and challenges of digitalization in society nationally, globally, and in his/her field, and the links of digitalization to education and training in formal and informal learning environments.is aware of the risks and opportunities associated with digital environments and takes them into account in his/her activities and as a teacher and education specialist.understands the importance of media education and critical literacy in a digital society and the key concepts and theoretical underpinnings related to this topic.can plan and implement media education and critical literacy activities in his/her work in different learning and media environments.strengthen critical literacy and their academic and professional identity as citizens, teachers, and educators in a digital society.
Content
The course examines the importance, challenges, and practices of media education in society and education, especially from the perspective of critical literacy. The main areas of the course arethe relationship with media and digital technologies, media use and functions in childhood, everyday life, and social participation, and the use of media content in teaching and learning.media education and media literacy: perspectives and objectives of media education, the role of media literacy in society, theories and key concepts of media literacy.online literacy and cognitive safety: theoretical and pedagogical models for assessing the reliability of information, opportunities, and risks associated with the Internet, media effects and defense against harmful information.data, algorithms, artificial intelligence, and their power in childhood and adolescence.media as a learning environment, media ecology.
