Objectives

This course provides students with the essential knowledge and practical skills to conceptualize, develop, and publish their own game. It is a comprehensive advanced course in game production.

Upon successful completion of the ‘Game Project 3’ course, students will be able to 
• provides with knowledge and practical skills to conceptualize, develop and publish their own game. 
• work as a member of a game production team to control scope and complete a game project within the time allotted.
• develop toolset and skills towards a game industry professional.

Content

• Game Development:
Overview of the game development lifecycle. Understanding the role of game developers in the industry.
• Project Planning and Management:
Skills in project planning, task allocation, and time management. Effective communication and collaboration within game development teams.
• Prototyping and Iteration:
Techniques for prototyping game concepts and iterative design based on feedback.
• Feedback and Improvement:
Receiving and incorporating constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
• Teamwork and Leadership:
Developing effective teamwork and leadership skills through collaborative projects.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student
• is able to identify what kind of toolset and skills is needed in game industry
• can describe key concepts of games

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student
• is able to apply identify what kind of toolset and skills he needs become a game industry professional
• demonstrate a clear understanding of how to create and populate an interesting game world for the player to explore with at least one working game mechanic

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• is able to apply develop his toolset and skills to become as a professional game developer
• complete a 3D game project within the time allotted
• work as a member of a game production team to control scope and complete a game project within the time allotted
