Objectives

The student can:
• plan and carry out experiments related to measurement and control technology in a systematic and safe manner
• design and implement simple measurement and adjustment applications
• evaluate the functionality of the control circuit
• simulate control circuit solutions
• analyze and report their research results in writing.

Content

Operating principles of instrumentation measuring devices, connections and performance of measurements. Analysis and reporting of measurement results. Operating principles of the controllers. Design and implementation of control circuit connections. Analysis and reporting of research results. Laboratory work is related to e.g. to the following topics: industrial measuring and operating devices, calibration devices and methods, calibration and tuning of instruments, computer-based measurement and testing systems and their programming, use and programming of programmable logic, controllers and their tuning, controller connections and control principles.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student knows how to build hardware connections and perform tasks according to laboratory instructions in accordance with the given work instructions and separate instructions. The student takes responsibility for his own work and knows how to work in a group.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

In addition to the previous ones, the student performs laboratory work independently and knows how to explain the progress of the work he / she has done, process the results, and justify the observations he / she made during the work and from the results in writing and orally.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the above, the student knows how to work actively, goal-oriented and productive. He / she knows how to critically analyze the work and the results he / she has obtained, and draw more in-depth conclusions from the results and observations.
