Objectives
The student can:
• principles of dynamic behavior of processes
• forms dynamic models of simple systems
• use the model to determine the behavior of the system in a change situation
• analyze the control technical properties of the system
• use a simulation program to study dynamic systems.
• build the PID controller structure and simulate it.
Content
Differential equation and transfer function models. Block diagram representation. First and second order systems. Delay. Impulse, step, ramp and frequency responses of systems. Stability review. Use of a computer program in system simulation. Structure of a PID controller.
Prerequisites
Recommended background information: Integral transformations course or similar information.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student knows the basic concepts of control technology. He recognizes the differential equation and transfer function models of simple systems and knows how to calculate the responses of these models. Under guidance, the student can use simulation software to find out the dynamic properties of simple systems.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
In addition to the previous ones, the student can manage dynamic models of simple systems. He knows how to study the properties of systems with the help of models. He fluently and independently uses a simulation program to analyze dynamic models.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
In addition to the previous ones, the student knows how to create models of complex systems and use them to analyze the dynamic properties of the systems. He can independently adopt the features of the simulation program and apply them to the analysis of practical systems.
