Objectives

In this course, we deepen our understanding of the principles of social work with the elderly, focusing on guidance, various forms of intervention, specific aging-related issues, and developmental challenges.

Upon completing this course, the student will:
• Have a grasp of the fundamental concepts of gerontological social work and be able to apply key guiding and obligatory legislation
• Be familiar with services available to the elderly population and develop client-centered intervention methods
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity while supporting self-determination, equality, and diversity among the elderly
• Address specific aging-related issues effectively
• Contribute to the development of gerontological social work as a member of a professional team
