Objectives

In this course, we delve into evidence-based methods for effective client work. The focus lies on professional interaction, dialogue, and the application of art-based techniques, which are deepened and practically employed during the course.

Upon completing the course, the student will:
• Understand the fundamentals of client work, professional communication, interviews, and interdisciplinary practice
• Be able to assess service needs for different client groups and plan, implement, and evaluate the client service process
• Evaluate conversation structure, verbal, and nonverbal communication
• Apply well-founded methods in guiding, coaching, and rehabilitation for individuals, families, groups, and communities facing complex life situations
• Reflect on their strengths and areas for improvement related to professional communication
• Recognize the significance of embodiment in client work

Content

• In-depth exploration and application of research-based social work methods
• Dialogical, strength-based, and solution-focused guidance in counseling discussions and group activities
• Application of art-based methods (music, drama, visual arts, physical expression) tailored to clients’ or groups’ needs
