Objectives
The course provides you with essential information on the physical principles of magnetic resonance imaging, the operating principles of the equipment, and the performance of magnetic resonance examinations. You will learn patient guidance and magnetic safety working practices. You will apply basic knowledge of topographic anatomy and learn to identify common findings in MRI images.
After completing the course, the student:
• knows the physical principles or MRI imaging, the function of MRI equipment and auxiliary equipment
• knows how to impact the quality of MRI images by the selection of parameters, know the most common artefacts
• can apply their knowledge of topographic anatomy in MRI examinations and know the body planes in use
• knows the principles of planning in the most common MRI examinations
• can name anatomic structures in an MRI image
• knows the most common MRI examinations carried out to adults and children
• knows the principles of safe working in MRI examinations
• knows how to guide patients in MRI examinations
• knows the contrast media and intensifiers used in MRI and their use, influence mechanism as well as their side effects and the care of them
• discerns the findings discovered with MRI
• knows how to act in cases of emergency
