The student is able to
- collect and handle various samples, evaluate their validity and ensure correct preanalytical conditions
- use the main laboratory systems of the training place
- know the analysis and operating principles of the most common analysers and automation lines in laboratory production
- interpret the information provided by the laboratory information systems
- understand the validation rules of the results and apply them to evaluate the reliability of the results and possible follow-up actions
- understand the calibration and control practices used in the quality management of the training laboratory and the principles of auto-validation

Supervised training includes working in a clinical chemistry laboratory. The content of the training can vary depending on the training placement.
Prerequisites

- identify urine particles independently at basic level, identify also some advanced level findings and perform potential quick tests
- handle body fluid samples correctly and perform cell and particle counts using a Burker chamber
- evaluate the reliability of test results and the need for possible reanalysis and further actions
- perform different stages of quality assurance
- show initiative, ability to cooperate and interest in professional development
- operate according to agreed procedures and take responsibility for his/her actions
- evaluate realistically their own activities and take advantage of received feedback
