State variables, processes, laws of thermodynamics, energy balance calculations, use of tables and diagrams in thermodynamics. Ionizing radiation, sealed sources and x-ray machines, interaction of radiation with matter, biological effects of radiation, regulations, laws and decrees related to radiation safety.

It is possible to qualify as a radiation safety officer in the field of sealed sources and x-rays in industry, research and education.
