Objectives

The students learn advanced construction site surveying. They can make very accurate levelling works (precise levelling), total station works such as mapping and stake out surveying (anchor bolt stake out) with a field computer and traverse. They are able to make terrain models using field mapping format with surveying software (3D-win software), how to read surveying data from CAD drawings and how to change the format of surveying data. Facade-surveying and how to produce facade-cad-drawings. Volume calculations. The basics and civil engineering applications of satellite positioning and instruments.

Content

Precise levelling, mapping and stake out surveying with field computer, traverse, façade-surveying, satellite position surveying, CAD drawings and using CAD with surveying data, volume calculation.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student is able to produce terrain model drawings, position drawings, surface leveling images, elevation curves, precision measurement images and software-based graphical geodetic calculations from his own measurements or from completed measurement data. They are able to perform basic geodetic calculations using a spreadsheet program and master their manual skills. He also knows the calculations and misinterpretations needed for accurate leveling. All assignments were carefully done with proper labels, returned in a timely manner, with a given cover sheet, and active participation in class (over 50%). This evaluation allows for a deficient presentation of one of the above mentioned areas (except participation), which is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. In addition, the student is allowed a lack of ability to present his / her work in a neat and orderly appearance.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student is able to produce terrain model drawings, position drawings, surface leveling images, elevation curves, precision measurement images and software-based graphical geodetic calculations from his own measurements or from completed measurement data. They are able to perform basic geodetic calculations using a spreadsheet program and master their manual skills. He also knows the calculations and misinterpretations needed for accurate leveling. All assignments were carefully done with proper labels, returned in a timely manner, with a given cover sheet, and active participation in class (over 60%). This assessment will allow for a deficient presentation of any of these areas, which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
